Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 15, 2026

Dynamic Physiotherapy ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information through our website, general inquiries, and telecommunications systems, and how we comply with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Scope and Health Information Distinction

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our public website, general front-office communications, and marketing channels.

Clinical health records, assessment notes, and diagnostic data collected during patient care are governed separately by Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA). Steve Hansen, PT is the designated Custodian and Privacy Officer for this clinical information, and Jane Software Inc. is our designated Information Manager under HIA Section 66. Clinical information is managed through our secure, dedicated electronic medical records (EMR) practice management software — not through our general website or the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect personal information when you interact with our clinic:

  • Contact Information: Name, telephone number, and email address provided when you call our office, book appointments, or communicate directly with our team.
  • Technical and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, visit duration, and referring URLs collected automatically when you visit our website.

3. Website Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking Technologies

We use the following third-party tools to monitor website performance, understand how visitors use our site, and manage our online advertising:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager: We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and visitor behavior, and Google Tag Manager to deploy tracking tags. These tools use cookies to collect data such as pages visited and actions taken on our site.
  • Google Ads: We use conversion tracking and remarketing through Google Ads to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads to past visitors on other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your Google Ads Settings.
  • Microsoft Clarity: We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how visitors use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Microsoft captures this data using first- and third-party cookies. For details, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Cookies: You may set your browser to reject cookies or notify you when a cookie is placed. Some features of the site may function with limited utility if cookies are disabled.

4. Text Messaging (SMS) Terms and Conditions

If you consent to receive SMS from Dynamic Physiotherapy, you agree to receive appointment confirmations and reminders, missed call follow-ups, and two-way conversational messages with our front-desk team. Reply STOP to unsubscribe; reply HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply. Messaging frequency may vary. Visit this page to see our full Privacy Policy and SMS Terms and Conditions.

When you provide your mobile phone number and consent to receive text messages from Dynamic Physiotherapy (delivered through our telecommunications provider, Mango Voice), the following terms apply:

  • Types of Messages: Two-way conversational messages with front-desk staff, customer care responses, missed call follow-up texts, and appointment confirmations or reminders.
  • Consent is not a condition: Consenting to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any services from Dynamic Physiotherapy.
  • Opt-Out Instructions: Reply STOP at any time to any text message received from us. You will receive one final text confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.
  • Customer Support: Reply HELP to any message, or contact our clinic directly by phone or email.
  • Rates and Frequency: Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies depending on your appointment schedule and active communications with the clinic.
  • Carrier Liability: Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Mobile Information Privacy and Non-Sharing

No mobile opt-in message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other data-sharing categories described in this policy — this information will never be sold, rented, leased, or shared with third parties or marketing affiliates under any circumstances.

6. Use and Disclosure of Information

We use your information to:

  • Coordinate scheduling, verify bookings, and send appointment reminders.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and deliver customer service support.
  • Measure and improve our website and advertising performance.
  • Maintain and optimize website functionality and security.

We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only to service providers acting on our behalf (such as telecommunications, analytics, and practice management vendors) who are contractually bound to confidentiality, or when required by law.

7. Data Retention and Security

We retain contact information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

8. Access and Correction

Under Alberta's PIPA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate or incomplete. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.
